Star Wars WEEK: a solute to all us nerds!
DISCLAIMER: ok, so my kids NEVER wear clothes. They sport the undies 24/7. I mean, seriously, it's pretty hot here all the time, and they wear clothes when we leave the house, but I am telling you, they tear off their clothes as soon as they walk in the door, before I can lay my purse and keys down. So.... there it is. One day I guess I will make them, but for now not worth the fight.
Alrighty...so here is the most fun week we have had in school. I stole everything as far as I know and I will site everything I can remember, so none of this is mine. Most of the printables I found here.
My boys knew it was going to be something special when they saw their new name tags. I found these cute printables here.
ART. Elijah's starfighter.
Mearuring lightsabers
Phonics. In the printables there was also a story about Luke and his friends that Elijah enjoyed reading. Oh and the boys LOVED all the books I got from the library on star wars.
Lego Star Wars, my boys are in love:)
READ. BUILD. WRITE.
Tracing Letters. I had also found some Star Wars Clone WARs puzzles on clearance to go along with our theme.
Starfighter math. The printables for math were too easy for Elijah, so I made some extra starfighters and we did lots of addition. If Elijah got it right, he got to blast me with a blaster. If he got it wrong I got to blast him with the blaster. HE LOVED!
Beware of the DARK side. I Peter 5:8
Starfighter snack time. Graham crackers, marshmellow and peanut butter.
Best craft project EVER! We all had so much fun doing this. I bought a lego mini-figurine ice tray and made salt dough recipe and painted away. This was literally hours of fun!! We had checked out the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary from the library and tried to copy the figurines we wanted. I found this craft project here.

Elijah had earned a new leapster explorer game(Star WARs) and we bought a new clone war tag book to go with it for the coopster. So there it is in all its random nerdiness. There was so much to do and we will be this one again next year as I build our star wars collection.
Also this was a great Idea that I loved but the boys were just not old enough yet. Next year! This lapbook.

Jekyll Island field trip. In love with that island!!
Cooper finding him a dead crab or seashell.
Elijah's tiny conch shell. Very beautiful!
Cooper chasing the seagulls in the distance.....i love this shot.
The boys on their treck and exploration!
The up close and personal stingray! Soo cool!
I can't believe it has taken me this long to explore Jekyll. When we first moved to the area( pre-kiddos), I think we went up there one day, but I don't remember a thing about it. But me and the boys have been twice this year and LOVED it. We usually head south to fernandina beach. It's only about a 30 min. drive. Jekyll is about 45 min. and there use to be NOThing much north to entice us. But now we tend to go that direction more and more. We have Doctors up there and they now have some nice shopping areas and resturants. Anyway, the thing i like most about Jekyll is the wildlife....i am not an animal person at ALL but i love the marine animals and the oceany stuff. In may we saw dolphins VERY close to shore and got to explore a million(a bit exagerated :) jellyfish. Today we swam 15 feet away from the dolphins, found some huge conch shells, hermit crabs, blue crabs and even got to see a stingray that a fisherman had caught before he released it back into the water! Talk about EDUCATIONAL!!! It was so beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was swimming in muddy merky water...it was pretty eeeeewwwwky!

Homeschool organization project!!
BEFORE......

I couldn't stand looking at brown walls and brown furniture anymore....i mean it was driving me crazy!! So i went into the garage looking for some paint and it ended up being a light blue color and i went to town...didn't even trim or anything bc i knew i would change it but i just couldn't look at brown any more....i also painted my brown bookcase white...but the problem was that it just wasnt enough storage. No matter how i organized with what i had, there was still piles of stuff laying around and i just couldn't stand it.

Here are the piles of stuff i just didn't know what to do with. I just didnt have room in high enough spaces where the boys wouldn't find their way to paint and craft supplies i didn't want them getting into. This drove kevin crazy, having all this stuff in the kitchen!

AFTER.....
We went to ikea(in LOVE) and bought some expidit shelves and i bought a gallon of grayish with a hint of blue paint and painted my table black. Sorry for the glare....but i like it so far. I am trying to figure out what i should do with the chairs or if i should just leave them. i would love the look of white chairs but it is NOT going to happen with my VERY MESSY, prone to stains little boys!!!

blueberry picking...vacuna farms.
Blueberries...yum!

The rusty metal fan that almost took cooper's fingers off...it wasn't electric....and he was just turning the wheel while i went to get money out of the van....WHAT was i thinking letting him play with it!! Once again...not my best mommy moment...he was so pitiful...

One day i'm gonna get a fancy camera to take really cool pictures...but until then....

We got some new homeschool supplies. I am obsessed with melissa and doug and got this for homeschooling...boys are loving it.

This was sunday after the spring festival....and a really long weekend...THIS NEVER happens!

Stained glass window craft we actually got this from the new veggie tales movie on easter...Elijah really wanted to do this and it was easy and fun..

Just a little cuteness...daddy reading while cooper watches tv, plays with and action figure and rubs kevin's hair.

Our week at a glance...
#11. Elijah picking my one rose...well at least the petals and bought it to me just because he loves me! The petals were our centerpiece for dinner.

Coopster wearing my shape up shoes....such a cutie!

I love this picture...Elijah singing Brit nichole while painting his caterpillar.

Cooper really concentrating with the caterpillar.

The real caterpillar! Love how interested they are in watching the little guy crawl around.

We saw a cardinal on our tree house so we decided to make bird feeders....so he would come back.

#12. Although Kevin and Elijah don't think so, I LOVE grapefruit...red and delious!!

Cooper loves to color....went to do something in the back of the house and this is what i came back to:)

Watching the final four with a few people from church....this is Chris, Elijah's buddy.
