NO TV is such a blessing....for real.

Okay so i know i am sounding like a homeschool conservative freak(okay i am one or will be one soon).  We go back and forth with this whole cable/dish or none at all.  Believe me when i say it is REALLY hard sometimes!!  WE love tv!  But we have been able to really invest in loving on our kids when the tv is not on, especially at night!  Kevin started to play the guitar again and we have been trying to worship as a family together for a year now(we are very sporatic to be honest...but baby steps) and it has been fun to sing and dance, and for elijah to play his guitar(okay we are really sounding nerdy now!) But anyway, tonight i had to sit back and smile bc, kevin was sitting at the table coloring with elijah.  I had bought a david and goliath coloring book.  And as they were coloring kevin was telling him the story(of course elijah was mostly interested in the giant and the sword..ha).  But i thought....what an amazing moment for them to spend together...and if we had cable or dish....you better believe that tv would have been on and we would have all been glued!!!  i think the problem for me at least is that i have soooo little self-control over it.....i miss hallmark christmas movies, and basketball, and the cooking network and hgtv, discovery channel and of course disney!  But i think tonight was worth it!
