March goals!

I did pretty good on my February goals, the only thing i did not get accomplished was my experimenting with fruit leather.  Kevin and i are headed to Gainesville on Saturday(going to UK vs. UF bball game) and am going to spend a fortune getting strawberries to freeze and make fruit leather so i will be accomplishing that goal soon enough.

March is a busy month but here are some things i want to accomplish.

1.March 10th is the "feast of Purim."- i am trying to start a tradition of sorts with this one, so i am not going to have high expectations.  Plus, pretty much everyone thinks i am crazy and that this idea is too abnormal.  I just want to stretch people and teach children and adults about something from the history of Christianity.

2.  St. Patrick's Day fun- this will be the first time i do something besides wear green for this holiday.  But i thought this could be a fun memory to do with the family.  I am still working on the details.  But i am thinking of doing a Shamrock craft and incorporating a teaching of the trinity.
Also thinking, green milk and eggs for breakfast.  Clover sandwich and shamrock smoothie for lunch.  Salad and sheperd's pie for dinner. Green jello for dessert.  Any more ideas (educational for food ideas for SPD?).

3.  Make fruit leather.

4.  till my garden and start planting!!!!!!!
5.  Prepare for Holy Week events- i REALLY want this time to be a special time full of memories, since this is the backbone of what WE  believe and want to teach our family.
So we are going to begin with Palm Sunday(or Sat. night).  We are going to invite friends over to celebrate the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.  We are basically going to have a family, kid friendly worship service, where we can worship through song and with our palm branches.  I am so excited about this.  This was one of my absolute favorite memories from the years i spend at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Asheville.   We were each given a real palm leaf and would wave them in the air as we worshipped.  I loved how much freeing and fun it was to worship our God this way.  And what an amazing visual for the kids to see, hear, smell, touch.  I love it!  So we are going to do our own at home....anybody up for something different?

Passover- thursday

Good friday-We are going to stay home as a family and watch a preschool version of the Resurrection of Jesus with popcorn and snacks and under candlelight.

Sat-  decorate eggs, do resurrection eggs, get ready for Sunday morning.
Sun- still working on this one....but of course i want it to be extra special!!!! Any ideas??
